Friends and families of Northside

Greetings! It is my honor and pleasure to serve as your stewardship chairman for 2011. Northside United Methodist Church is a truly blessed church with many wonderful ministries and many wonderful families and members. As a member of Northside UMC, I firmly believe that I am living in abundance (last years stewardship theme) every day of my life! What a successful and fruitful year we have had in 2010 as a result of our collective generosity. Thanks to each and every member of Northside UMC for making this year a great one. It will be even more amazing to see what God has in store for us in 2011!

Our Duncan family has now been attending Northside for almost 4 years, and daily I continue to be amazed at the scope, breadth, and impact that the many ministries of Northside UMC have in our community. This past year was an especially meaningful time for the Duncan family as our son, Walker, went through confirmation class and finished up with his own private interview with Dr. Gil. This next year holds the graduation of our oldest son, Sawyer, from Furman. What exciting times! My wife Tammy and I are so thankful for the impact that Northside UMC has had on our family. The love of this church for us has been tremendous. God led our family to Northside UMC as one of His most generous blessings and gifts to our family. God is a generous giver and for that the Duncan family is very thankful.

As we begin this stewardship season, please consider the following question, “In whom do you place your trust?” Our 2011 stewardship campaign theme is Giving is a Measure of our Trust! We will have the opportunity on Trust Sunday, November 14th, to answer that question for ourselves, our families, and for God. Over the next few weeks0 we have many exciting messages planned, and I look forward to sharing this stewardship season with you. I wish all of God’s blessings on each family and member as we enjoy this stewardship season together. God is good all the time.

In His Steps,
Denis J. Duncan
