Student Ministry

Our goal in Student Ministry is to reach, train, and send out servant leaders for Christ. We offer various discipleship opportunities for students to learn God’s word and build community. There are plenty of great ways your student can get connected here at Northside!

CONFIRMATION

Confirmation is a yearlong commitment, which includes a spring retreat, for 7th grade students seeking to confirm their baptism and join the United Methodist Church. In this Sunday morning class, students learn the traditions and heritage of the church found in the Apostle’s Creed, giving our class the theme IBAC or “I believe in the Apostle’s Creed.”

KINGDOM JOURNEY

Kingdom Journey is a two-year-long Bible study open to all 9th and 10th graders at Northside. Beginning in September, parent(s) and student will study the Bible and meet with the class two Sundays a month for discussion. The course culminates in a trip to the Holy Land.

STUDENTS’ SMALL GROUPS

In Student Ministry, we believe in building discipleship through our small group activities. Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF) meets Sunday evenings from 5:30 to 7:00 PM and is a place where students build community while enjoying a group dinner, a small group lesson, and exciting games. On Wednesday Nights, join our Fathom Bible Study from 6:00 to 7:00 PM where we dive deep into Scripture and see how it applies in our lives. We also invite you to join any of our weekend retreats including the Fall Retreat, High School Retreat, and Middle School Retreat.

STUDENTS’ SUNDAY MORNINGS

We offer imaginative and inspiring Sunday morning Bible studies for students in grades 6–12. Each grade is discipled by devoted staff and volunteer teachers who are dedicated to the spiritual development of each student. Sunday morning meetings run about an hour and typically include fun activities, engaging lessons, and a delicious doughnut breakfast.
