Missions

Here at Northside Church, we feel that mission outreach is an opportunity to serve others as our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, taught us to do and, in doing so, grow spiritually as a congregation. Our mission outreach opportunities focus on improving housing and alleviating hunger with the goal of establishing healthy homes in underserved communities of metro Atlanta. We strive to assist those living on the margins in order to prevent homelessness from occurring. We strive to assist those experiencing homelessness transition to stable housing. We strive to promote safe secure places for families to love and take care of each other, make memories, and grow both physically and spiritually.

DISASTER RESPONSE TEAM

Our Disaster Response Team serves as needed to prevent further damage to homes affected by hurricanes, tornados, floods and other natural disasters. Early Response Team (ERT) training is offered by UMCOR and suggested for team members but not always required. We hope you will join this ongoing mission opportunity to provide a caring presence of the church to survivors as we make repairs and help clean up the destruction.

HOUSING

Missions outreach is an opportunity to serve others, not just around the world, but also right here in the community. Northside is committed to mobilizing support for the homeless, at-risk youth, neighborhood revitalization, and general relief programs, through an array of ministries and projects focused on housing. We partner with local nonprofits, In-town Collaborative Ministries, Covenant House Georgia, Buckhead Christian Ministries, Murphy-Harpst Children’s Centers, Habitat for Humanity, Wellroot Family Services, and Hope Atlanta, Wesley Woods Foundation, Trinity Community Ministries and Rebuild Together – Atlanta.

HUNGER

Mission opportunities at Northside focus on meeting the basic needs of those in the underserved communities of metro Atlanta. One of those basic needs is hunger, and we partner with Food Security for America, Good Samaritan Health Center, PAWkids and Hope Atlanta to support families in need.

MISSION TRIPS

In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus gives the Great Commission, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.” Northside offers mission trips domestically and internationally and supports missionaries to fulfill this Great Commission.
